The Heritage Architecture Foundation believes India's architectural heritage belongs to everyone. We are committed to making our digital archive, measured surveys and public educational materials accessible to individuals with varying abilities, assistive technologies and browsing environments.

2. Standards and Technical Implementation

Our digital interfaces are designed to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. Key accessibility measures across our pages include:

• High Contrast Ratios: Text and essential UI controls maintain strong contrast against our natural drafting paper background.
• Keyboard Navigation: All interactive menus, search filters, form fields and modals are fully operable via keyboard tabs.
• Semantic Structure: Pages use logical heading hierarchies and descriptive ARIA landmark labels for screen readers.
• Reduced Motion Support: CSS animations respect system preferences for users who have motion sensitivity enabled.

3. Physical Heritage Walks Accessibility

For our community walking tours, we provide detailed route descriptions in advance, including walking distances, terrain notes and step counts for ancient sites. Where monuments have restricted access, our walk leaders provide visual aids and supplementary drawings.
