Accessibility Statement

1. Our aim

We aim for this site to be usable by everyone. If something is hard to use, please tell us.

This site has not been independently audited against an accessibility standard, and we do not claim that it conforms to one.

2. What we have tried to do

• Keyboard use: menus, filters, search and forms are meant to work with a keyboard.
• Structure: pages use headings and landmarks so that screen readers can move through them.
• Motion: animations are reduced or switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Readable text: text is meant to keep clear contrast against the page background.

3. Known limitations

• Images in the archive have short text descriptions that give the record title and image number. Fuller descriptions of what each image shows have not yet been written.
• Colour contrast has not been checked on every page.
• The Record and Archive pages need JavaScript to list and show the records.

4. Tell us about a problem

If you find something hard to use, or need a page or record in another format, please write to us:

We will reply as soon as we can.
