Documenting India's heritage architecture is long work, more than any one institution can do alone. These are the ways to be part of it.
Much of what is known about heritage buildings is held privately: old photographs, drawings, books, letters, local records, and the knowledge of people who built or cared for a place.
In the long term, HAF's Kalanjiyam (களஞ்சியம், a storehouse) is meant to be a place where such material can be entrusted and kept. That is being built now.
